Moonstone Jewellery



Named after its moon-like pearly lustre, moonstone is a highly prized and sought after gemstone. Moonstone almost seems magical with a ghostly shimmering glow floating in a crystalline material. Moonstones are normally colourless with a pale grey or green tint, silvery-white or blue shimmer and a mobile reflection. Moonstones are usually cut in a smooth-domed cabochon shape to maximize the effect. Sometimes they are carved to show a man-in-the-moon face. Moonstone beads also display the sheen very well and are simply stunning against a black dress. It can be used to heighten reception of intuitive messages during meditation, while giving hope and is said to enhance one’s personal power. Legend says that moonstone brightens at each new moon and brings the lunar qualities of psychic awareness, emotional sensitivity,peace and harmony. It is said to be a most protective stone for travelers that are going across water at night. In India this gemstone is considered a sacred stone as it brings together harmonic opposites easily balancing the energies; which makes it perfect for teachers and educators. The Moonstone is also said to be supportive when difficult changes are being made. It is perfect for artists and helps one to be more confident in their creative expressions. Moonstone is also said to strengthen one’s self esteem or lifts a person to aspire to do better. It is often worn and said to relieve stress and anxiety. Brings greater flexibility and intuition. Enables graceful receptivity and openness to the suggestions and ideas of others.
